Winter Deli Damage

Post by The Pinkfingers »

After all the snow, and especially after the inability of North Van to plough our street until today, all of which necessitated frequent 4wd, and even 4wd low to get into our driveway, I noticed some damage today.

Every one of our mud flaps is ripped and torn apart - one even torn in half horizontally. These are JAOS flaps, so I'm a little surprised that spinning tires and flinging snow would do that. Mind you, some of the snow we went through was very deep, likely past the mud flaps themselves. I guess I'll be sourcing out a new set. $$$

Hey Nick, I noticed when I was cleaning your ride that the flaps looked a tad brittle, may have been a couple years in Japanese service near a nice hot road surface taking it's toll on their resilience. Sorry to hear though, JAOS flaps are NOT cheap.

That plus the freezing cold which would make them less supple and more brittle probably contributed to the breakage. Good to know. Thanks.
