K & N Air Filter

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

K & N Air Filter

Post by sasquatch-hunter »

Just bought a Delica Super Exceed. Does anyone here use a K & N air filter? If so, if you don't mind to post a part number? Always like the idea of reuseable.

cheers,
seb

The Uk website just had this discussion (http://www.mdocuk.co.uk/forums/viewtopic.php?t=17860) and gave a different part number (38-9207). Looking at the K&N website the two filters do have different dimensions, although it only gives the box dimensions for the 38-9207. They list the E-4810 for the 4D56 engine and the 38-9207 for the 4D56T engine. Does anyone have the dimensions for their filter (my Delica is not yet in my hands...)?

The website gives the E-4810 dimensions as Ht = 11.313"; ID = 2.625"; OD = 5.25". As I said, they don't provide anything but the box dimensions for the 38-9207, but it appears to be fatter and shorter with box Ht = 10.81"; length and width 6.25" vs box Ht = 12.75"; width and length 5.5" for the E-4810.

I noticed that Green1 from Calgary posted on that thread, have you ordered and tried one yet?

New arrival and K & N Air Filter number verification

Post by mblack »

Just picked up my Delica from the Halifax port Friday - its a 1992 with 94000 km, was only in the UK for a year. What a sweet ride these vehicles are. I like it much more than the Toyota that I have. There is definately more of a tank/truck feel to it.

I pulled the air filter and checked the dimensions - I measure length = 11.125", OD = 5.1875" and ID = 2.625". So it looks like the correct K&N part number is the 4810, at least for my van. Engine stamp is 4D56, without the "t" suffix.

I have used both the Baldwin and Wix filters during the last two years and 70,000 km.
My Delica is an L-300 '91 Super Exceed with the typical 4D56T engine.

This X-reference looks good in size, I'm just not clear if there is an end cap fitted on it.
If it doesn't, then I can always cut and glue from the old Baldwin.

This is the reply I just received from K&N filters:

Q: Is there a K&N equivalent to a Baldwin Filter PA1667-FN?

A: Thanks for contacting K&N. The Balwin part number cross reference to
K&N E-4810. You can purchase this filter from any K&N dealer near you.
Thanks for writing.

The pricing can be found through Ebay or local sellers.

I have the K&N e-4810 filter in my 4d56 (not "T") motor. I think it cost around $70 at the West Can auto parts up here. (they had to order it in)
