more proof that murphy is my patron saint...

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

so I finally went for my out of province inspection today...
apparently sometime between when I last checked (a couple days ago) and when I got to the inspection facility, my brake lights stopped working! :x
tracked it back to the switch on the brake pedal (when I connect the wires directly the brake lights come on, but pressing the pedal does nothing...)

so... anyone know the part number for this thing? or where I can get a replacement?

can't help you with the part number, sorry, but i did see your van on 19th street NE today...

you can take the switch out and the number should be on there...it might cross over to another brand or make of mits...it is a simple switch, take it with you to PYP and go for a search in the wrecks there...

well... I thought about it for a bit, then decided that I had nothing to loose and proceeded to disassemble the switch itself... upon getting in to the housing I discovered a LOT of corrosion on all the contacts, cleaned that up and reassembled the switch, and seems to work fine... tomorrow when it's light out I'll re-install it :)

Same thing happend to me on my inspection day. I was able to get mine wourking by just fidiling with it. It quit again. I then started to take it out but all I did was turn it a couple of times and what ever was the problem seems to have fixed it self.

well everything is now inspected, and I have the vehicle properly registered now, it wasn't a major obstacle... but to find out about the problem from the inspector... murphy's law....
