Oil Change in NANAIMO -GREAT CANADIAN OIL CHANGE

Post by Luna-Sea »

Hey,
Just a heads up that Great Canadian Oil Change up by Future Shop can do Deli oil Changes, A Barlow filter they used, please tell me someone if these filter are suck-butt or not. Seems to have a good weight to it. It was 80 bux or with premium for the special filter, they can do the air filter too ,mine was clean. I think from what I have read in other posts you might want to hold on to old air filters to rebuild them. The Guys there are good even new how to fill up the windshield fluid. They can only do Deli z in the bay farthest from the future shop or closest to the Kal Tire across the road.
If you see that bay is open you can slide in no waits!

I thought that was Right on 8-)

Also they suggested 3000 km between changes is this good?

i went to great canadian oil change here in PG, i really enjoyed it.i m running 10w30 now and im turning over way easier in the cold. usually i do my own oil changed but i really didnt feel like doin it in a snow packed parking lot, -7 with no were to put the old oil. i had to buy the oil filter from napa cozz they didnt have it.
great for 47 bucks and around 6 to 7 min of car rocking whilst you sit in it. then just drive away.

Every 3000km sounds more often than you need - the standard is 5000km. I was doing every 3500 to 4000, myself just 'cause I think more often is better than not often enough, but now that I have switched to synthetic motor oil that is said to last longer (6000), I'll start aiming at every 4500 to 5000km. For filters I have been using Sakura brand from Japan that I bought from Mdrive but will be hunting around for a local supplier of Baldwin BD28. If I can't find those close at hand I'll buy another bunch of Sakuras and have them shipped from Mdrive again.
10w-30 has too low a hot running temperature viscosity (2nd. number) and is, so I hear, not suitable for our little diesels. If you're having trouble starting in the cold try switching to 5w-40 or even 0w-40. The first number indicates the oil's viscoity when cold. The lower that first number the thinner, and so more fluid the oil is when cold. This is a good oil related thread from a month or so ago, though there are a few others worth searching around for too

Hey konadog I you have any large truck dealers in the area or even a napa or something you can get the balwin filters for $17 !! I get mine from a peterbuilt dealer parts area. Even if they are not as good as the japanese ones if you change your oil often then you can't go wrong for that price. I can pick you up a bunch and meet you sometime if you can't get them......
The Mighty Boosh !!
