Hey I work in Kits so I'm nice and close. I'm working the afternoon shift the next few weeks so should be easy to meet - my breaks are flexible so anytime is usually good.

sorry guys :M

I posted the summit racing link in the first post. You can always buy it individually from there.

I would recommend not to have it shipped over the border UPS Ground. UPS will charge their own handling fee + customs fee.

Pay the extra $20 or so to have it shipped USPS or FedEx.

there is a company called seawings out of victoria, or there used to be, I saved a ton of money on a buildup of mine by shipping through to their office in point roberts, and then having it brought up via seaplane. You still legally have to pay the appliccable fees depending on where the item was assembled, but you can utilize free shipping offers and avoid the dumberican greed found in Ebay shipping fees.

Just picked up all the hubs today.

Come and get 'em :M

Shoot me a PM

If there's some of you on the island I may come over to Victoria in a week or two, not sure. If not then a 'group' pickup/shipment would work too.

I am picking up my parcel from a 'friendly fire country' tomorrow evening. :-) Should we have a group 'Manual Hubs Installation Meet'? :?

Thanks Jesse for the hubs. We installed them today. It was a pain in the ass to get all the bolts out and we even had to cut one head off. Delicat tried to install his as well, but he was not so lucky. He had even more really tight bolts.
Well, so far the hubs works great.

I breathlessly await a phone call from Greyhound. I hope mine won't be a difficult install. I had the front wheel bearings replaced last June, so the bolts shouldn't be hard to undo. Keeping my fingers crossed.

 Real pain in the ...!

Before you start taking your hub apart and removing that C clip, do yourself a favor and start by "trying" to loosen up all your 8mm Allen bolts. Even the impact gun didn't work for me. Managed to get 5 out of 6 on one side, the 6th one now has a striped head. On the other wheel I only got 2 out of 6 loose. I even used a big fricking torch to heat the area around the bolt with a big NO for result.

David ,

Sorry to hear about the shear. Did you manage to drill it out ?

Sounds like a good idea to Dubya D a day in advance

Do NOT use an impact gun to remove the bolts. Only to put them back on.

The likelyhood of stripping the bolt is high because most 8mm allan impact sockets are not high quality and have a low shear point.

TO REMOVE USE ONLY :

Breaker bar WITH a long pipe ... ie.. 2-4 feet long.

This will provide much more leverage than the biggest impact gun even with heat.

(If you use a high heat source, repack the bearings before reassembling - cooking the grease is easy)

A large 1/2-3/4" breaker bar with a 2-4foot pole as leverage will break loose the bolt every time.

If you follow the above steps, you'll get all of them off without much grief.
