Mechanic reference

Post by skaguy »

Hi Everyone,

My smoky Deli needs an engine tune in Greater Vancouver and I think I'll get Mardy to do it. Even at my advanced age I'm still learning, the latest lesson was to check references before jumping in with both feet. Mardy seems to be well respected judging by the comments in this forum, I'd appreciate it if anyone could respond with their first hand experiences of dealing with him.

Many thanks,

Rick Dellow

I really support Mardy, great with providing vehicles and parts but unless you bought your van from Mardy I'd probably talk to Butch at CVI Auto in Richmond as he's the one that will end up doing most of the work anyway... 604-247-0500.

Yes, they are the best in LMD for servicing Delicas.

While Mardy is the Lord of Delica in the meaning of knowledge, he is not the mechanic(common mix up). The garage he is hooked up with has two wizards Butch and Edwin cooking up the magic. That is, CVI is the garage and I think you will have a hard time finding a higher authority on Delicas anywhere else on this side of the moon.

Daniel

DOH! DELICAT you beat me too it!

As far as mechanical Delica issues are concerned: Butch and Edwin of CVI are my knights in shining armor.....

I can only recommend them and say the best about them!

Cheers, Chris

Hi, just for the knowledge, me & CVI has separate company.
i do all the call to what to do on all my delica & my delica client, not CVI they have there own opinion than mine.
when in regards to tuning & trouble shoot not CVI, as i own & drive Delica for almost 5 yrs now, i do study how this delica works & run.
thats what i do on this delica, not just drive you gonna have to learn how this works.
As per fishslapper note, i dont bring My delica all the Work to CVI just some, the rest i do it. just to clarrify.
i do work as a supervisor with 6 mechanic in the phils before i emigrate here in canada for about 19 yrs from now. i deal with this engine before back home in the phils. thats why i do have extensive knowledge on this vehicle. but again everyday i learn new thing, its always new thing we have to learn as day goes by.
CVI dont do the calls for what things to be done on all my Delica & My Delica Client when it comes to trouble shoot, its me who do the calls.what needs to be done.not CVI.
we are not the same. its a matter of which one your comfortable to deal with.
hope this clarify the topic:
Cheers;
Mardy

Bur more often than not, their shining armour is a lil greasy, cause they are always busy. Every time I go to the shop I end up talking to Edwins heels - He's always humped over a Delica :-D

Mardy is great for all the initial stuff when you buy the car. For ongoing maintenance and reliable time schedule, I too would recommend CVI and Butch.
