2" lift kit

I'm just trying to figure if there's enough interest for a 2" lift kit for our Delica.

I brought some shackles from Bruce in the UK on my last trip and have already contacted a shop to get them made. I've agreed with Bruce that if I was to sell his shackles I'd give part of the proceed to Mark to help him with supporting this great site.

I also got some nice upper balljoint 3/4" spacers. Same shop can make them for me but I'd probably need to get 10 kits made to make it worthwhile.

The shackles are made of steel and would probably be galvanized. The spacers are aluminum and could be plated if needed.

As you can see I've learned from my skidplate 17 pages embarassment and got it all sorted out before posting it!

I'll have the pictures pretty soon. As for price I think I could get it done for $300 or so. I'm still waiting for a final price.

To make the shackles you need steel flat bar, drill press, bench grinder, Grade 8 hardware and some welding skills.

BJ spacers are 2.5" round aluminum stock 10/25mm bits/d press.

It's a lot higher/harder to get in, that's for sure.

One pair.

First one is 2" , second is 2.5" (re-arched the leaf packs)

Makes for a more stable ride.

I can get them really soon if interested.

The only thing that I haven't price out is the coating on the steel (galvanized), some of the hardware for the front and the spacer for the rear shocks if you don't have the longer ones. As of now, it would be just over $430 and a bit more once I get the price for the hardware and plating. But if you guys are willing to wait until the end of February I could probably cut the cost down enough to make it interesting.

I need to make 10 kits to make it worthwhile but it's still a big investment so I'd probably need some confirmation if I was to do it right away. As for the end of February I think I'll just do it and hope for the best...

Any special fabrication required? My brother happens to have a CNC machine in his garage and may be able to help if required. Haven't asked him but I am sure he could be persuaded with liquids....

I have four sets of shackles that I made up a few weeks ago w/ hardware if that helps.

No BJ spacers though.

I spoke to Mark about giving some of the profit back to the club but apparently the delica.ca is running an equilibrated budget (if only our politician could do the same) from the adds showing up when only visiting.

Mark suggested to give some of the money back to our member at our next major meet. I like the idea! So if I make and distribute 10 sets before our next major meet I'll simply give away a full set as a price... hopefully this would draw more people to the next meet! Better idea out there?

Is this kit all you would need to lift your deli 2". Just a bolt in affair, or would I need to source other parts?

That's all you'd need and either you buy longer shocks for the rear or you put spacer blocks that I could supply anyway. Then you'll need to re-adjust your torsion bars at the front.

Here's what's involved for the rear. The shackles I'm making are different but at the end of the day they do the same job. This will show the install with the block spacer/regular length shocks.

As for the front you can look at this post to see how to adjust or re-index your torsion bars but it doesn't show the ball-joint spacer which will ease the stress on the torsion bar.

All of this can be done in your driveway if the weather is participating...

Don't forget that when you do the B/J spacer and TBar adjust, you will need to get a wheel alignment.
