Hey folks,
had some time to kill and opened up the driver side inspection plate and found that there are two duct hoses that I'm sure are supposed to have a connector in between. picture below. Anyone know if it an essential connector?

it is essential that there NOT be a hose there...Is this hose essential?
it's to let any particles scooped up by the air intake drop out before the air filter, it's actually a brilliant bit of design.

It's really brilliant when it comes to fording creeks, too. It's like an in house snorkel. The filter housing itself has an one-way valve in the bottom of the dust trap for letting things (such as water) out.Green1 wrote:it is essential that there NOT be a hose there...Is this hose essential?
