Re: WHITEHORSE or Vanc - '91 Exceed ready to roll

Post by aw76 »

that looks almost like the kind of ride i am looking for...however i am located in saskatchewan which is kind of inconvenient for me...tho vancouver wouldnt be out of the question...

anyone else on the forum familiar with this vehicle?is $12,500 a little high for a vehicle of that year?

what are the requirements in the Yukon for passing standards?do you think they would be similar to Sask, or would it still need quite a few upgrades to pass in SK?

thanks

Most of the provinces have VERY similar requirements for out of province inspections. Trouble is, finding an inspector who know what they're doing, and isn't afraid/reluctant to inspect something they've never seen before (like a JDM vehicle). If you can find one who can READ the inspection sheet and follow along, then the battle is mostly won.

That being said, there are a couple of Delicas already in Saskatchewan, so shout out to them and find out who they dealt with.

The consensus here seems to be: don't go to Canadian Tire. Not a lot of good stories about their inspections... in any province.

I talked to someone in the insurance dept. at the Yukon government and explained the situation; he said if it was approved in BC, no problem. I went the extra step and had it inspected by the main auto shop in Whitehorse so it has a Yukon gov't approved inspection as well. No idea about Sask.

As for the price, look around online - forum, craigslist, delica importers...I think you'll find the price is well in line with what's out there given the condition of the vehicle, features, and upgrades (and of course the convenience of it being in Whitehorse, if you happen to be a Yukoner : )

If you were to come to Vancouver to buy a Delica you would find that there are dozens for sale here so you'll have your pick and full range of prices...

Cheers.
