aluminum shift knobs....interest ?
I was thinking about making knobs for both the 4x4 and the 5 speed shift levers !!
I am thinking of putting the mitsumaple logo on it !!! People seem to be crazy for our logo so i thought i could cut it into the top or do an inlay for a sticker......(provided it is ok with mystery Machine !!)
Please post drawings if you have any ideas or let me know if this sounds dumb to to you. !! I just thought i would see if there is an interest. I will post drawings soon as i would on some ideas with my buddy the cad/cam computer genius !!! If you can think it ,we can design it and make it.
cheers isaac

Re: aluminum shift knobs....interest ?
Having an auto, the gearshift one wouldn't interest me. But the 4x4 might. Especially if it tilted forwards a little, giving more clearance between the knob and my custom console. How about out of ebony wood, rather than aluminum or aluminium. If metal I'd prefer the aluminium, since I'd want a Canadian one, not American metal <duck>

I used to have an aluminum knob on my Paj but ended up going with a grippy leather one after the summer.
The aluminum one got so hot sometimes
Then in the winter.. it reminds me of a giant ice cube
Can you make one up of synthetic or some kind of neat fabric instead of metal ?

I think he's making 5 speed, and 4wd knobs. The auto shifter would be a hard one to make :P

Re: aluminum shift knobs....interest ?
Yeah i want to make the 4x4 and the 5 speed shift knobs. I would love to make a new auto shift lever too !!! That is one butt ugly shift lever !!! I hate it !!
So it sounds like wood it what people want. I think we could find wood ones out there on the market already. It would not have the mitsumaple logo on it but it would save tons of work.
i'll keep getting input and toying with ideas !! Any wood workers with access to wood working tools want to help me ?? !!!
