Test Drive

Post by mazdaspeedsteve »

Q: How can you tell the road is level?
A: You drool out of both sides of your mouth when a Delica drives by.

My wife and I are extremely interested in getting one of these nifty vans, but are wondering where to go for a test drive. We are in the Abbotsford area. The only place I know of is Japan Auto on Railway. Are they worthwhile or does it matter where you buy? Just looking for some advice. Hope to join the ranks soon.

Welcome - Go for a test drive soon, but before you buy one, spend some time sniffing around the forum here. Start with this: http://www.delica.ca/forum/delica-faq-section-16/ Then have a look here: http://www.delica.ca/forum/delica-deale ... ler+rating And then just poke about and use the search function (upper right) for specific questions. Delicas are great vehicles, but it it sure pays to know you are getting one that is in good mechanical order. Post pictures of your bus when you get it :-D :M

Hi Steve,

a herd of us are camping this weekend in Chilliwack, love to meet up, see our posting for times and locations. Are you and/or your wife able to meet us at Flying J Shell on Lickman Road North of Highway 1 in Chilliwack at 10:45 am ish Saturday (today). At 11:15 We then drive north to Fraser River, please come for the drive ... you both can drive along with one or two of us, I could slum it and drive your vehicle. I will send you a PM Private Message with cell phone number. Sunday schedule is open plan, if that works better. Cheers, christine.

Steve,

The couple at Abbotsford Japan Auto are really kind, nice, wonderful people. I took my very first delica there years ago to get the timing belt done, and have maintained a relationship with them ever since. They are real great, trustworthy and honest.

What Josh said. We bought Duke there a year ago, Shinji and Mayu will bend over backwards to help you. They had a nice van out front about a month ago when I was there last, I think it was a Jasper version. All the compliance work is done so all you do is drive the van home and enjoy. Our van cost a little more than some I've seen advertised, but in the year we've had it (other than the Delica tune), it hasn't cost us more than the oil and fuel put into it. For a used vehicle thats not too bad. :-D
