Hi everybody,

My van has all chrome bumper bars, front foot steps and rear "bumperette" - except for the side step bar (underneath sliding door)... that one is white... don't know what prompted the previous owner to go chrome on virtually everything except that side step bar.

If anybody has a chrome side step bar but would rather have a white one, I could certainly help by giving mine and take the chrome one instead

If somebody doesn't want a white step bar but would sell a chrome one cheap (maybe let's call it "inexpensive") I might be equally interested to hear from you.

PS: and all of this without trivia-question... just couldn't come up with equally "hush" stuff as a nude mayor.... (I mean, where outside of Houston, BC, would you find such a thing? )

The reason you have a white one is likely the Chrome's unique ability to rust in a hurry. Also, that step is the first thing to start rotting. Try ditching it and see how you like the look, IMO looks wayyyy better.

I actually removed a whole bunch last weekend...

Removed the front steps (they looked like something you'd find on a L400 anyway... - so they had to go...)
Removed the rear mud flaps.... don't need to advertise that it's a 4x4 - will eventually put in something small just so that it won't spray all the way up into the rear bumper.
Removed the auxiliary foglights as I will eventually put HID spot lights in (have to get them first, though... . )
The rear bumperette will soon go in favor of a trailer hitch

Thing is: the side step bar (in white) is actually quite useful.. when "loading up the baby" etc. or if mother in law want's to climb in ( )

As I will eventually raise the van a bit and have bigger wheels too, I think the side step bar will come in even handier....

But my side-step bar is not rusted... looks like the white paint protects it a bit... maybe what I do when I can't find a decent (and inexpensive) chrome one, I'll spray paint it silver / chrome or sth... so that it goes better with the paint of the lower half of the van...
