Re: front winch bumper or rear with swing out tire carrier??????
Well for me I was going to look into have something with these features made...
smallish rear bumper(not guady size) that would have a swinging tire mount on it. I liked the bumper that also had the 3 receivers on it but I would make them a little farther apart and all on the same plane. If I wanted to carry extra fuel I would put my fuel pod/platform into the receiver, possibly two fuel pods (either side) if needed.
The main reason I liked the 3 receiver bumper is that I had visions of a platform that would swivel on the center mount so that you could easily roll a dirtbike onto it and rotate it up and lock it using the end receivers.
lol makes sense in my mind but not sure it would work in reality. If you use my idea I could use a discount lol

Re: front winch bumper or rear with swing out tire carrier??????
lol, dfnder, your ideas sound good for a custom job but I think we'll be a bit simpler to start with on
the prototype. It will be the bumper with swing out, basket for fuel, propane cylinder.
I am listening to what you guys want. Glad you all have some input :)
Rear hitch being incorporated is a definite possibility. There will be a receiver....but....how many of you need one that can handle carrying a trailer of any weight...should we just leave that job up
to a separate hitch, or do we want it in the bumper???
Thanks again

i think you want it in the bumper. for one thing i think the bumper would have to be mounted much stronger than the stock weenie pipe bumper, and then if somebody is considering a fuel tank you'd start to run out of room to also jam a hitch receiver in there.
i guess on that note, why not introduce mounting points for a tank onto the whole bumper/hitch assembly? hmm

Same here as after oil. Having the hitch incorporated into the bumper might make everything simpler and ease the addition of an extra fuel/wvo tank where the spare resides. When I installed my wvo tank it ended up being a bit more of a pain 'cause the hitch mounts were in the way.

ok, sounds good in theory, but you have to realize that if we do it that way (which I would prefer) there will have to be some frame mounting so it could handle the weight of anything you might want to pull. I wouldn't want to put a receiver there without the extra reinforcement.
You know how some people are, "HEY!!!! cool, a receiver.....let's hook up our 18,000lb trailer and
take it offroading"
lol, you understand the liability issues

Good point for sure.
I'll drop by next week. I have a wvo tank mounted at the back so it could help visualize how this could be done if at all possible. But I'm sure the majority could benefit from having an integrated hitch. The other good thing about it is that it would put a bunch of used hitches on the market... Don't need to be pulling a heavy trailer to benefit from a hitch, those hitch baskets that sell for $100 at Princess Auto sure come handy!

Re: front winch bumper or rear with swing out tire carrier??????
my bumper/SOSTC (swing out spare tire carrier) is bolted to the frame. we slid heavy steel plates into the frame and bolted through. i think maybe some of the holes were there either from the stock bumper or spare tire basket...

Have had something similar planed for a rear bumper but switch now to a proper roof rack and a bike rack on the front push bars: http://www.delica.ca/forum/my-all-in-on ... -3834.html

Re: front winch bumper or rear with swing out tire carrier??????
Hi everyone,
Just a revival here to keep you posted....prototype should be done by Wednesday or Thursday. A lot of work has gone into the brackets to be able to hold the weight of what might be thrown at it. We've gone through 2 design changes already this week..lol.
We will have some pictures up in the next few days so you all have an idea of the progress. Once you have a look at them, we will be taking pre orders starting next monday (the 20th).
We're very happy with the design and it flows nicely with the Deli's body lines.
Take care all

Pics will be up in the next couple of days.
Price point will be around $1500. It has dual swing outs, one for the tire and one for fuel can, propane or what have you. There are hi-lift jacking points built in as well as a hi-lift mounting point.
