Re: Delica Camper
Hi All, Just to add to Jan's posting: This is an immaculate camper, and a real bargain,
I parked next to her one day, did a double take at the interior, and she happily let me snoop all over it. Bought from Japanoid, special order for Jan, they fully prepped it all. Looks like new, must have barely been used in Japan. Has the pop top roof and chamonix middle seat. Instead of a rear bench there are the millions of cupboards, fridge, sink, water, clothes closet etc. The middle chamonix seat has the flip-flop back so can either face forward for driving, or flip to face backwards as a bench on one side of the table. This chamonix seat also works in conjuction with the table which drops down to form a nice bed, along with the bench seat on the rear side of the table. Or use the pop top to sleep upstairs. 2 people in the usual front seats, dash layout looks the same. Jan can confirm, but I think it is not 4wd, so it is a little lower in height (easier for people to get in to van) but still ample clearance for forestry roads.
The sliding doors on both sides are cool. It idled smoothly and quietly. This has been babied by Jan. I hope someone local buys it so we can have our group camping events together with someone who has everything including the kitchen sink aboard.
Cheers, Christine of the TardisDeli.

Re: Delica Camper
Can you stand up in the rear where the kitchen is ?
I've never seen a Delica with a pop top facing the opposite way (opening towards the front).
Would you be able to post a few pictures from inside ?

Re: Delica Camper
Thats pretty sexy, all the goodness of a VW West'failure' without the headaches.
It looks like its based on the Delica work van so just wondering if it has the turbo engine or not? Also is the fridge a 3-way [propane/12v/120v] or only a single source?

Re: Delica Camper
JShiell could you please tell me what model of awning that is, and how you attached to the rain gutter (if it's a Fiamma, what kit?)
Also are you willing to sell the awning and brackets, I will pay a reasonable price since I'm looking into a Fiamma right now.
Thanks, David

I have the same awning/bracketery.
It comes stock on the Reimo camper conversions.
It's bolted through the roof so it would not work on a crystalite Delica.
I'm going to sell mine (just the awning and brackets) soon but will post in another thread.
I'm not sure if this Delica camper is still for sale.
?

Re: Delica Camper
Thanks for the info Jesse.
I have a reimo conversion, I don't know if it's factory or not. No awning, and no holes where brackets once were, and now that I look closer at the pics my shell does not have those little indentations where the brackets are. So I don't think I can use one of those awnings, out of the box anyway.
I'm debating making my own, much simpler in the Hannibal style, and with a pvc carrying bag...I like the idea of manual swinging bars and poles much better than the fragile looking & expensive crank-out units like Fiamma! Faster setup and less delicate. But let me know when you sell yours anyway :)
Thanks, David
