I'd like to start a thread of people's recent inspection experiences. My idea would take the following form:
1) where did you get your BC Provincial Inspection?
2) when?
3) what modifications did you have to make in order to pass?
4) how was the experience? (cost? scheduling? other?)
I think this would be helpful to anyone (like myself) in the process of importing a Delica and trying to figure out a close and convenient place to get this inspection done with minimal hassle.

My inspection at Axyl Alley was about 18 months ago (Spring of 2005).
I had my current vehicle in for service at Axyl Alley last month (September 2006), and while I was there did have some discussion with the owner (Alex).
Alex indicated that he may have difficulty passing Delicas (and other JDM vehicles) today due to the lighting not conforming to DOT standards.
This issue seems to have all started with a letter that was mailed out in February 2006 to all BC Inspection Facilities:

I understand that vehicles continue to come in, but the letter seems to have led to some nervousness at some inspection facilities. I hope this situation gets resolved soon, as I aspire to import an L400 van in 2008!

I used a small shop here in Powell River and passed flawlessly, they missed the headlights but went on about whether or not my windows should pass! They also had seen the letter and decided it didn't need a center mounted stop light, guess cause I dropped it off and picked it up driving another Delica. $100 plus $25 for the BC vin
