Not a Deli, but...

Post by Jaz »

So, Friday night, about somewhere around 7 or 8pm, we were heading east towards Manning Park on the number 1, but we had only got as far as just passing the Magic Castle adventureland or whatever it is that is somewhere between Abbotsford and Chilliwack.

We're cruising along, doing the (cough) speed limit, pointing things out to my cousin and his wife who landed in Vancouver a couple of days prior. Up ahead, I spot one of those massif white north american GMC Savana vans, same as you see most days, except this one is crystal clean and has a color matching and similarly sized canadian canoe on top. Then I notice it has a little lcd ticker display above the number plate - cool!

We're closing up in the left hand lane, and I start reading it.

I... C... A... . ... C... A... ?

Huh?

T... A... R... D... I... S...

What?!

D... E... L... I...

No way?!

R... U... L... E... S...

It's Christine and Jay!

So we pull up along side, Nat starts waving madly, Jay looks at us like we're crazy, Christine has her feet up on the dash, then takes notice and starts waving madly back!

Good to see you guys!

Neither of us were driving Delica's, but it's still a friendship formed through this club :-D :M

Manning Park was a great option btw Christine, Thanks!

Yes that was us in my NABV on our way to Merrit to try our hand at white water canoeing for the first time . We survived until we dumped right at the finish. We were very impressed with your tracking skills despite our Stealth Mode Travel.

Where did you go to, and why werent your friends with you when you passed us?? Wewatched to see if there eas another verhicle (ie a Forester) near you, nope. Story??

Cheers. Christine & Jay.

Ha! My cousin and his wife were in the back seats, hidden by the tint, and our other friends had already gone ahead by a few hours to score us a camp ground.

We ended up camped at Mule Deer campsite for a couple of nights before we had to come back. Thoroughly recommend it if you want to get away for a few nights.

Sounds like you guys had a bit of fun! White water is always good :)

I've been thinking we should get an inflatable kayak to go on the roofrack... when I get round to installing the roofrack...
