shocks again

after much searching I think I have found the rancho shock part number (at least for the rear as I need those now as one of mine is broken, also I need to go rancho or monroe as I am limited to lordco)

so for shocks if it says the top is the pin or stud and the bottom is the eye, is it bad to mount it the other way round? I'm thinking not but figured I'd ask before buying.

ok well the upside down thing isn't the great for the monroe and other shocks with the hard cover the the body slides into as upside down that will fill with water and dirt.

I will be updating later as I found one of the part numbers on the wiki and forum wrong as the shock that they brought out was eye to eye. on wed they should hav rancho rs5604 (I think will update later as well :)) and hope those will fit they are about the same size compressed and about 2 and a bit inches longer on extention as well as being eye up top and stud below.

I too was looking for shocks and found the monroe numbers to be wrong. So I went to where I bought the van and they gave me the right numbers, so I can say they are confirmed. Pro Comp ES9000 front 913515 and rear 919520. I know you are looking for Rancho's but Lordco can order in Pro Comps and I was told if you can get the number of the shock off of the van they could cross reference them for a North American number. I could'nt see any markings on my old shocks till I had them off the van and cleaned up. Just remember to get the polyurathane bushings if they don't already have them. The old shocks that came out of my van were KYB's and had poly bushings in them.

the special orders take 4-5 weeks and if it's the wrong one your hosed, they can order bilstein too but are pretty expensive atm. will take a look at the ranchos on wed when they come from van and make up my mind then. I will post all the part numbers I confirm.

ok the rancho rs5604 fit great, about .5" or less longer when compressed and 1.5" or 2" longer extended but most importantly is that they are eye on top and pin on the bottom.

Hi Loki. If it is any help I have Rancho 9000s on the MLB, really good. When I got them they were $135.00 a piece but often go for a "buy three & get the forth one free" deal, however the deal for me was buy all four then mail in for a rebate. They are adjustable and run between 0 to 9. 0 Is soft, 9 is hard. For off road I prefer 4 in the front and 2 in the back; in the city I will run them 6 in the front and 3 in the back or anywhere up to 8 front & 6 in the back. In cases of strong cross winds like one might find on the Okanagan Connector, &c., I stiffen them right up (like 9;7). For the rear shocks I had to take the bottom adapters off the axle and weld on new ones. If you want to install a bluetooth system for adjusting them from the driver's seat (instead of crawling under the van in a rain storm) there is a Rancho product called "My Ride" which sells for roughly $350.00 but you will need to get rid of the cheap in line fuse link and replace it with a marine grade one ~ otherwise you will be constantly cleaning condensation corrosion off the ends of the fuse.
