Wow, why has no one brought over a Delica truck yet? I haven't seen any, that would be sweet.

Looking to import

Post by jaime »

I am currently in the process of importing through Japan Auto direct and sofar the service and professionalism have been excellent. Although having said that I am currently still in the purchasing phase. The agent I am working with, Graeme C., says that he personally inspect every vehicle himself but that means he only buys from the auctions in Tokyo as that is where he is located so a little less options.

Does anyone know how much shipping ins. should cost?
Thanks
J.

Hi, J,
i did help one of the JAD customer who bought cars from them, just find out when it arrived that the front carpet is burn from stereo wire problem, almost burm the the wholefront carpet & its a big size of wire about maybe gauge 8, & other is with different design Of AW & tire attached on it. He dont know about it, so just be aware of this. they can only inspect mostly near there area. you also have to consider
what otherthings to be done when it lands here approx is 2,800 to 3,500 max total including light & other thing to be in the safe side if you can find any good mechanic who lnow how to works on this delica. not easy big money dont think about the cost of the car think about the maintenance when you recieved the car.
regards to shipping for one delica if by container about 1,800 to 2,300 just for shipping only not to consider other cost. so just make sure you got it in details for your delica. when you do it almost the same as when you buy it thru reputable dealers with warranty on it, so its up to you to decide.
hope this will help: :-)

Re: Terra2 imports translation problems

Post by sftaikun »

Hello,

I have compared several online auction services, I found Terra missed some quite important details in translations. For example, 'rust underneath' translated off the original auction sheet, is missing on the Terra2imports translations. Mentions of 'oil stains in the engine compartment' are also not translated.

Has anyone else noticed this? I can read Japanese so it is clear to me the type of info being 'missed'.

Last July I purchased a Delica at Auction and I was advised well in advance of bidding by my contact that it was date stamped Dec. 1992 and I would have to wait 5 months before it was shippped but he thought it had spec's that made the wait worth it. It is due here early Dec. ALso it did not have a sunroof, it has a high roof. Out of curiosity I thought I would check the Terra site and sure enough it was there, listed as coming up for auction. Curiously there was no mention of the fact that the buyer would have to wait 5 months, and it mistakenly listed it as having a sunroof. Terra's recommended target price was considerably more than what I had to pay, but to be fair, that was just a recommendation, not the actual final cost. ALso to be fair, overlooking the date stamp may have been an honest oversight, but a potentially fatal one for the buyer withal.
