Banff, Elk Jam on Mtn Ave.

Post by JMK »

You: Two-tone blue/grey? Were caught in the total gridlock trying to go down the hill and navigate through all the insane tourists with their cameras and tripods.

Me: Arrived in the truck with the flashing lights, called for backup to get the traffic moving again, and then chased the two bulls off using the hockey stick instead of rubber bullets, happily ruining the camera shots for the idiot that had set up his tripod a few feet from the bull elk on the grass. Kind of remembered in retrospect seeing a Deli calmly navigating through the madness. How come you didn't offer to help!!

well it wasn't me... but in response to your query
How come you didn't offer to help!!
because the guys with the flashing lights don't usually like it when those of us without the flashing lights add to the number of vehicles stopped for this sort of thing....

The perfect time to do a real world test on the Delica Bambi bars, with a film crew on hand to record the results, and at least 5000 Japanese tourists chearing proudly for their homeland product, and you said no!?!?

Green,

You're very perceptive and that's generally true.

However, in my case, if I saw someone exit a Delica, now there's an exception. When you drive a Deli, the bar is raised on what you can expect from the driver. If he offered to help I'd immediately know I could offer him either the hockey stick with the yellow garbage bag tied to the end of it, or the 12 guage Wingmaster with the rubber bullets. While both are preferred Elk hazing tools, I suspect that the guy exiting the Deli is probably a better shot, and he's less likely to 'accidently' hit a rental Ford Flex with a rubber bullet. Or maybe not...

Guess you get the yellow garbage bag after all...

awww... but I wanted to "accidentally" hit the flex... frequently.... (I suppose I could still do so with the hockey stick....)
