Just a non political observation about Quebec's RHD ban

Post by delica 304 »

As we all know, no good can come from Quebec's decision to ban RHD's, I just want to show you how bad things will get, as people become desperate for vans as cool as the Delica:

The French aren't known for their car care, let alone automotive tastes.

It's not just the engine that's in flames - It's the whole North American auto industry :o And good riddance too, says I :-P

Le Car was great transportation, and the 5 Turbo was a thing of beauty. No NA manufacturer could do something like that.

And the Fuego Turbo was a stealth Camaro-killer.

Don't knock the European cars until you've seen them in action.

I think the jab was more to the "imaginative" naming of the vehicle, rather than the actual performance of said machine.

I've seen the odd Le Car here in Victoria, and that's nearly 20 years after they were made, non?

Reminds me of someone talking about the dog-car BMW has made over the years, and Mercedes, and Jaguar (oops, sorry, that's ALL of them): each car company has its groaners, just some have more than others.

In any case I'd take ANY import over any NA vehicle. Even a Lada! Seriously, I like those and there seems to be a following too.

Lada had their issues, but did relatively well in Canada, and there used to be lots of them around. Cars designed for Russian roads and Siberian winters would find Canada a fairly cushy place...

Lada is now part of the Renault-Nissan group. The Russian government owns a majority share.

Maybe a Lada... but certainly not a Trabant....

Mind you that Trabbi's definitively have a following too....
