OMG - fell asleep at the wheel!

Post by konadog »

Well, not really, but I sure do like when dogs sit in the passanger seat of a RHD and it looks at first glance to those coming the other way like they are driving. In this case it looks like little Penny Lane is falling asleep at the wheel!

Yawn, it sure is a looong way to ccautos...

That is toooo cute! I too like driving with the pup in the passenger seat...not all the time, but sometimes. We do get funny looks with our 68lb yellow labs head sticking out of what should be the driver's side of the Celica. Haven't had him in the front of the Delica yet though.

Beautiful Penny Lane, is this a new member of your family, sorry if you've already posted the story but we have been away camping and whitewater canoeing. Cheers, Christine.

Thanks guys - TardisDeli, we got the new kid from the pound a few months ago - veeery feisty and game for action, well, except when driving! I have clocked her at 40.5 km/h while out on one of our daily 15 km bike rides just the other day - not bad for 28 lbs. If she was a boxer or MMA fighter her fight name would be Penny The Firecracker Lane. She fit into our pack straight off and it's like she has been her forever :-D

After an hour 15+ km run "can we go again, can we, huh, huh?!"

I can totally relate. I picked up a Mexican perro (dog) and she likes to sit in the front seat. This one time I went through a toll booth in Mexico near Tijuana and the person at the booth nearly S(*T her pants  and then burst out laughing at herself for how startled she was. :-D

Not dog related, but I had a funny experience the other day. Me and the wife were driving down a residential street going like 20KMH when I saw a bike comming towards me, as I got closer I could see her scowling at me and then she swerved into the middle of the road towards us. I was looking at her the whole time, thinking what is she doing? Why is she in the middle of the road peddling towards a head on colision looking angry at me? I hold up my hands as if to say what are you doing, she turns away glaring daggars at us as we pass. I'm talking to my wife saying, WTF was her problem and then it dawns on us, wife was looking out the side window daydreaming and the bike lady thought she was the driver and totally not paying attention. So she was trying to freak out my wife, the apparent driver, who she hoped would eventually look up and see that she was about to run over a biker, scream and give that wide eyed, open mouth stare that people do when they realize they are about to run over something. Kind of funny afterwards, I wonder what she would have done had I been by my self, "My god theirs a run away car!" LOL

Dude, I can totally relate to Penny Lane! I've been working on the sets of a TV show, doing elevens and... I..... ... and I keep needing more sleep. I kind of relate to that old Beatles song ~ how does it go? Oh yeah:
  • I'm soooo tired ~ I'm feeling so upset,
Although--- I'm so tired ~ I think I'll have another cigarette,
And curse Air Walter Raleigh ~ he was such a stupid git! Oh no, no ~

Hang in there, Penny!

Falco.

g_man1972, what an incredible story!

Don't let ICBC hear that one or there'll be more fodder for them.

Yea, ha ha, I can see the headlines right now, "RHD vehicles are unsafe for bikers as they assume the passanger is the driver and not paying attention, so they try and freak out the non driver by raming their bicycle into the 2.5 ton van to make a point." LOL.

I was curious as to how she couldn't figure out that my wife wasn't driving as I was breaking and slowing down as she approached, staring at her perplexed and turning my wheel a bit to the right to get out of the way. By the way a collision would never have happened, unless she decided to drive into my stopped van.

But seriously, most of the time just like everyone else I get points and smiles and "hey, ha ha, that car is driving it's self" looks. I think this lady was just having a really bad day... or maybe is just a ...

Cheers

The latter I'm afraid. Some people just go through life like that, not wisely choosing their battles and acting on assumptions....
