4X8 TRAILER

Post by Daddyman »

MIGHT I HAVE A PROBLEM TOWING A LIGHT DUTY TRAILER WITH MAYBE A FRIDGE OR LANDFILL?
SPEED IS NOT AN ISSUE HERE.
THANKS.

Hi again Daddyman,

I have a little trailer and I happily tow about 1000 lbs at a time. My hitch is rated for 3000 llbs oad and 300 lbs tongue weight but BioZack's is rated at 5000 and 500 so trailering is no problem ....

Except for one little detail: The rear window on a Deli is pretty high and my trailer is pretty low and short so I often can't see the trailer out the back window. This can make for some exciting reversing. The little bugger can be almost jack-knifed by the time I can see it in the wing mirrors. I am going to modify my trailer to have an adjustable tongue, longer for backing up and shorter (so cheaper) for on the ferry. Also, I' going to make a new collapsible box that stands a little taller.

BTW If don't already have a hitch, you may want to look here:

Welcome Daddyman,

We have pulled my 17 foot aluminum boat; with 75hp motor, kicker and plenty of gear in the boat, up into the interior with no problems. The Delica's are quite a surprising the first time you tow, they seem so under powered for highway hills, yet with the diesel's torque the extra weight is hardly noticed. But I do drive a little slower and watch the temperature gauge more, then the road, just to be paranoid.

In response to your other post would you like my wife to type a response too help convince your wife about purchasing a Delica? My sweetie is the biggest Delica fan going.

Cheers
