No heat. Blowscold

Well I think its about time to fix the heat problem. Just did a rad flush and still no sighn of heat. I heard that these pajero do have venting issues and I'm guessing I have one of them. Even on full blast its not warm. Can someone tell me what I should look for, or where to start vents area etc.

Check your heater hoses and the valve. If it's cold on the way in, you know the valve is stuck.

Our delica had that, problem was wrong thermostat -- we had the proper one according to much research at Lordco or napa (can't remember which one). But get a new OEM from John of RockyMountainImports.net (or RMI is his PM on this website) and whoosh heat magically happens. The non oem did not extend the bottom leg of the thermostat far enough down to contact the thermostat housing, although it looked a good fit. Regards, Christine.

There are only a few things that can cause your condition.

1. Ensure that your engines cooling system is coming up to temperature. Unlike most diesels, the mitsubishi diesels take only a few minutes of driving to get heat. I usually get warm air in a couple of blocks.

2. Ensure that you have coolant flow to and through your heater core. You can take both hoses off of your heater core and have an assistant start your engine. Make sure you have coolant pumping out of one hose. Then connect that hose and make sure you have flow through the heater core. If that is OK make sure the return hose is not restricted. This is a messy but nessisary process.

3. Make sure your air flaps in the heater box are working properly and not stuck on cold. When you move the heat controls you should be able to feel a temperature difference, of hear the flaps moving. You may have to remove under dash panels/ glovebox to get a proper view.

Does it only blow warm in the rear through the floor vents. It doesn't seem to blow warm from the roof vents?

I beleive this is normal, my Pajero is the same, only cool/cold air blows from the overhead vents.

New updates. I check my heater core. it was plugged up pretty bad and there was brown residue. I flushed it out for a couple min. and putting pressure to unclug it. Now it runs through clean. Tried out the heat and I got a little bit of warmth but still. The engine was running hot also. and the rear heat is the same no heat what so ever. Which Vent should i be looking for? I took off the bottom panels of the dash but Couldnt see the vent.

I was going crazy trying to figure out why the top vents in the rear was not blowing hot air.. now i know....

To OP,

I did try to check the levers for the heater core. first it was not as warm but after fiddling with it it was ok. But my problem is that the front center vents, only the right side is warm and the left side is cold... any one know about this?

the ducts in behind the dash can work loose, I had that on mine, I reached in through the hole where a radio should be :) and put them back together, would have been easier to do if I stopped the van first but it worked out ok
