Complaint about too numerous postings
I would just like to voice my complaint about the amount of vehicles posted onto the "other vehicle" thread by Maximum Overdrive. I don't think that Delica.ca has a rule about this sort of thing but that effectively sinks other posts. If venders want people to see your 'entire stock' I think maybe a weekly reminder to visit "THEIR" site would be more appropriate.
I have had no dealings with M.O. and value the input he is able to give to this site and probably M.O. didn't think his postings would be viewed negatively. Maybe I'm just in a bad mood but these posts rubbed me the wrong way.
cheers :)

Re: Complaint
I have no problem with it, it's in the right section and they are all actually for sale. but that's just me and I'm a shit disturber.

Re: Complaint
It maybe is a little annoying that they fill up the "view active topics" page. Seems like they just decided to post them all at once. I assume now that it has been done once then adding one or two more as they come up won't be a big deal.

Re: Complaint
I suggest commercial posts be restricted to one advertisement a day. Filling up the "Recent Posts" page is a big problem, as important posts such as emergency calls for help and local meets get buried. If all dealers did this same huge volume of posts, our site would no longer benefit all members. Let's all play fair in our sandbox, please. Christine.

that point is valid for the sections that get emergency calls for help and local meets and such but the section we are talking about is just for sales, I would see it as a problem if the bumped them up all the time but as it stands they just finally go around to posting all the vehicles that they have for sale.

Re: Complaint
I agree with Christine. I think dealers should be asked to limit themselves to 1or2 a day. I generally look first at active topics and having it totally filled with someone's sales pitch is a bit too much in my humble opinion. Thanks.

Re: Complaint
I'm fine with it, and always like looking at the new gear coming in. Before I signed on here I spent the last year lurking/looking at the site- particularly the For Sale threads. Realistically, the effort it takes to scroll a mouse down a page and pick the threads I want to read is almost infinitesimal. It's not as bad as when the kids lose the TV remote and I actually have get up

Re: Complaint
You know I just use the (view active topics) tag so it was irritating, struck me as a type of spam. Certainly it's my personal oppinion and I was in the mood to rock the boat a little. It is a little out of character for me to bitch but it is always good to test ones boundaries lol.

Re: Complaint
I agree with you dfnder. I too use the active topics tab, now I have to scroll back 2 to 3 pages to see posts that I would actually respond to. 22 new posts in a row seems to me a little like spam.

Re: Complaint about too numerous postings
I really think if you didn't post so many at once that no one would care...or at least care less.

Re: Complaint about too numerous postings
just a suggestion... can we exempt the sales sections from the "new posts" link? (I think the software can do that) people looking to buy can still select those sections, but those that aren't won't see the "view new posts" page filled with ads for vehicles...
