Ah. Are you unhappy with the filter heater that comes with the Elsbett kit, and using that on the stock filter? Or is this on a different van?

I'm not happy with the availability of replacement filters, I'm planing on replacing the stock filter and the elsbett one with the racor as I'm sure it is better than both combined. I would consider this an upgrade.PlantDrive wrote:Ah. Are you unhappy with the filter heater that comes with the Elsbett kit, and using that on the stock filter? Or is this on a different van?

Re: Best HEATED Fuel Filter
Hey there, I thought I would just mention which filter I've been using.. Racor 900 with an electric heating element. It heats to 90 with its thermostat. I have a Hotfox coolant heater in my fuel tank, so the racor heater only kicks in when the fuel line isn't warm enough. The replacement filters are $75 for 12.. The unit was $250 for the Griffin rip-off brand (g900).. My only complaint is that the clear plastic bowl is the weak link. If there is any vibration, it will crack. I had mine crack after 8 months, and then when I replaced it, it cracked a few weeks later. I have now installed racors solid metal bowl(1/2 inch thick), so I'm good to go.
