Whistler

Post by flyfishn »

Well our first official road trip is only to Whistler. I have so far counted 9 Delica's since leaving the Shore. At least 4 were in Whistler. Wish I had a Deli when I lived up here.
Also about the Deli wave, I feel it is still very much alive. In and around North Van and Vancouver the other day, I gave and recieved waves from the 4 Delica's I saw. Same special little (scooter) motorbike club.
Anyhow, can't wait for the next meet, so I can put some faces to the handles on here.

Hi,
We also went to Whistler in our new L400 on Sunday and also saw about four Delhis. Deli wave alive and well!
We drove to Pemberton and had an excellent lunch at the Pony. Whistler is a bit scary. I don't think I have ever seen it that crowded! Way too many people for me.
Delhi got a lot of attention along the main street of Squamish. Perfect deli country!

On the way back trying to find a place with water for our dog to swim in, we ended up at Stump Lake which is accessed through the road and parking lot at Alice Lake just north of Squamish. Really nice one hour walk around the lake with a couple of spots to jump in. And almost no people!

Yeah Crankwerx was on in Whistler the last 9 days I believe.

We lucked out where were staying, as there is no street parking left in Whistler, and my Deli is 8'4" with rack and Thule, right outside our place is 1 spot for 1 overheight vehicle. So we too received many looks.

Stump is beautiul. Not bad fishn. Can't believe the difference between Stump and then cross the street to Alice. It's like the PNE.

I will look for your ride in North Van.

If you see me I'll always wave :).. I think I get about a 50% return wave rate at the moment, however I will always keep on giving ;)

Not only is the Deli-wave alive but it also extends to L400's.

I've been getting more than 67% (give or take 2 percentage points) Deli-waves from L300's and L400's alike.

It's alive :-D
