exhaust question

Post by Firesong »

I did a quick search on exhaust systems but after reading through
10 pages I figured I could simply ask.
Stock exhaust is what size?
What are people recommending for replacement. I do see some
references for 2.5" and even 3" I don't want to spend an arm and leg but
would like to cut out some restrictions.
How about the muffler. Is there anything specific that should
be addressed with diesel motors etc.
Might do something before it starts to get cold out here.

I did the cheap route......cut the old exhaust of at the intermediate pipe, after the manifold and using a couple elbows and a small section of straight pipe and a cheap turbo muffler all from Crappy tire made a side dump system. Cost me about $125 total and about an hour. Made a difference in performance and sounds good too. I also put a 3" chrome tip for looks.

What size of pipe did you go, stock size?
I think I want mine to still go to the back...
do you get some exhaust particles drifting onto
your paint as it goes back?
