Runs great.... but....

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Runs great.... but....

Post by Spearo »

Before I start digging into things: a few times this week, turning off the ignition did not result in the Smellica stopping. There is a stupid turbo timer that has worked 1 whole time since I bought it, turns itself on/off at random, but has otherwise been useless. These times the little POS was not lit up but the fuel kept pumping.
Any suggestions amigos/amigas? Besides the 5lb sledgehammer precision tool option of course
Thanks and have a great weekend- I'm off to Jasper.

Sounds like a sticking fuel solenoid on the IP

2 possibilities:
1) that turbo timer is being a pain
2) your fuel shutoff solenoid is being a pain

troubleshooting:
1) disconnect the turbo timer
2) see if that solves the issue
3a) if so, get rid of the turbo timer
3b) if not, look in to replacing the fuel shutoff solenoid.

I have, occasionally, had my van kept running after I turn the key off but all I have to do if turn off the lights and it shuts off, it's not very often though so it is weird. So you might want to look into that as well.

Wow, that was quick! You guys must be as busy as me today at work lol.
Thanks for the input- gives me somewhere to look.
And that turbotimer will be binned shortly. I just want to make sure I unhook all the right things.

When that is the case, it is usually the daytime running lights (DRL) that are the cause. They are backfeeding the ignition.

Fix the DRLs and you problem will go away. (If that is the issue, of course!)
