Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
TardisDeli, Missy and myself came across a pretty strange looking Delica in Burnaby on Sunday...
Do you know more about it?
Two sliding doors and three seats in the front. Looks like a 2wd.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
I don't know about strange, but definitely different...
Who gets to sit in the 'middle seat' in the front? Not much leg room.
Single shifter, definitely 2WD. Square headlight arrangement, pre-1986(?). Dual-sliding doors, export model (not JDM), possibly Great Britain market. Was the speedometer in MPH?
I would call 604.451.0454 for more details.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
the weight limit sticker with Japanese on it makes me think it is JDM, just a cargo model or something like that.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
That's what the majority of the L300's looked like in Australia - big square headlights, and no fun stuff. They're just a tradesmans special, and that's what they were used for extensively.
I'd say that was the basest model you could get, but it would probably still be early 90's rather than 80's.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
Should be simple enough to bolt a turbo onto that, I should think. How many seats in the rear, or is it a panel/cargo van? With no seats in the rear it would be a good start for a camper van.MardyDelica wrote:hi, i Sold this Van to a friend of mind who owns a glass company shop in richmond.

Mitsubishi made zillions of L300 commercial vans of varying specifications. Our L300 Star Wagons are only one variation on a much larger theme. This is another one.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
Where did you go canoeing?
These are common in Thailand, but the odd one is done up as a wanna be Delica (still 2wd); with lift, 30 inch tires, and a custom front bar. Also have to wonder how the mileage compares on the lighter vehicle without a turbo.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
For one, because it's a two wheel drive, the mileage will be better ~ not having to push that extra differential all the time.

Re: Strange looking Delica in Vancouver
Hi Kev BCDelica, we were canoeing on Deer Lake in Burnaby (us and a zillion ducks) as we were showing Fexlboi Felix and Missy Tony what we had learnt in our canoeing courses, as I need the practise for my canoe instructor course. Now Tony is addicted, so I guess Felix will need to modify their Delica roof rack to also carry a canoe. Soon we will be back to whitewater canoeing once the rains start, now the rivers are too low for my precious canoe to navigate unscratched. Cheers, Christine.
