Lost my ride.
Well there goes my membership to the crazy four wheel drive import van forums. Don't pass out while you are driving beside a water filled ditch.

Re: Lost my ride.
Passed out, and driving, really aren't the two phrases that should be in the same sentence. Glad your okay, sucks about your bus. Passing out tired, or passing out drunk, always have a bad ending.

Glad you're ok, and I'm glad your RHD kept you safe enough to tell the story.

Re: Lost my ride.
is that really a write off?
Looks to me like you could still drive it off.
My buddy up here did the same in his Deli on a soft shoulder and he still goes with plastic windows for a year now.

Preventable Accident = Not good for forwarding the RHD safety issue
Falling asleep at the wheel is just as dangerous and irresponsible as drunk driving. If you are tired, pull over. You could have killed yourself or worse yet, some other innocent person.

Re: Lost my ride.
No I wasn't drunk or tired. I sometimes faint after I hurt myself. I had just rolled my ankle as I stepped out of my dump truck. I limped over to my van and swore a bit as I pushed the clutch in and pulled out of the driveway. I had just gotten into fifth gear when I could feel my blood pressure start to wane. I thought it would be a good time to pull over and let it pass. No sooner had I flicked my signal than I had this dream that I couldn't breathe. Some guy pulled my head out of the water and asked me if there was anyone else in the vehicle. I said no and unclipped my seatbelt. They hauled me up and out and sat me on my front tire. It was only then that I realized it was no dream. I borrowed a phone and called my wife. I told her I had been in a little fender bender and could she bring me a dry shirt? She got there as my van was being hauled out of the water. I didn't have to tell her I almost drowned. Thanks to the guys who jumped into the water and pulled out.
Sucky deal but I'm all right. Antibiotics and a bandaid on my knuckle fixed me right up. ICBC gave me $5,478. Bought for 68. They were very nice to me considering that the guy I bought it wrote five grand on the sale form to save me gst. The adjuster said I was rather pleasant to deal with. As for me next ride, I'm thinking camry station wagon. I know boo hiss.
