Did you have to use a speaker mount adaptor?

Hmm, thanks. The 6.5 energy speakers I was trying to fit just couldn't be jammed into the 5" brackets. I bought some adaptors but they didnt fit the bolt pattern of the door or the new speakers. I took a jigsaw and cut the existing brackets out to fit the new speakers and reinstalled...actually worked out great. Now if I can just find the plastic piece that fits the door opening mechanism.....

Re: DOOR SPEAKER SIZE
I managed to shoehorn a pair of 6.5" Alpine components into the stock door locations of my 2.8L 93 LWB . Had to take the dremel and carve out some of the plastic mounting piece to allow room for the crossover coil mounted to the outer edge of the speaker basket, but otherwise they were a pretty simple install. I would imagine coaxials would go in with no trouble at all.
