Paint?

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Paint?

Post by Aztec Nomad »

Hey,
I'm currently looking for a Delica but the color I'm interested in is not as common as others it seems (white). My question is, has anyone tried to repaint one of these vans? How much did it cost? There are a lot of vans out there for sale and if repainting was an option, then owning one of these wicked vans may soon be a reality.

a "cheap" repaint will cost about $1500-$2000 and look cheap. a proper repaint will cost close to $10,000

White may be rare, but it's not THAT rare, you'll find one.

Hi Adam,

I have a Crystal Lite that was the standard two-tone grey; I had the dark grey colour matched to the light grey on the bottom.
I wasn't concerned about the door jams or inner rear hatch since it was a grey colour; looks awesome if I may say!
Cost @ Craftsman Collision was $2300 with taxes. I saved money on the prep by removing all mirrors, wipers, and trim.
Even if you repainted everything the same colour, it would never cost near $10,000!

Hey Joe,
Thanks, Ya I was kind of thinking that 10g was a little steep. I am mechanically inclined and have done a body job before but haven't sprayed. I could take all the trim off and mirrors etc. How much plastic is there on a Delica? I'm curious because of bondo or any other repair that has been done or is needed.
