Importing accessories

Post by Drumster »

A bit OT here as I already have my Beastie but I'm curious as to what duties would apply to $300 - $400 worth of accessories, engine parts etc from Delica.us in Japan. Of course the whole "duty" thing is a complete rip off scam but I guess we're stuck with it for now. Different rates apply to different countries and products.
Any idea what I'd be dealing with in this case?
Cheers!
I'm here to learn.

I've found duty on parts/accessories/miscellaneous products vary greatly depending on the customs officer who looks at it, anywhere from nothing to 50%...
I always plan for the 50%, and sometimes I'm pleasantly surprised...
