i am very surprised so many delica engines are abused in Canada, as they have lived longer than expected in Japan.
we spent lots of money to buy Delicas. :M 8-)
I don't know that "abused" is the right word, we just have significantly different roadways then Japan does. nowhere in Japan do you spend over an hour driving up steep grades on a roadway with a 110km/hr speed limit, however that's part of the Trans Canada highway not far out of Vancouver. Beyond that just to get from one major city to the next you often have 3-10 hours of 100km/hr plus driving. We also have temperatures in much of the country that hover below -20c all winter, deep snow, etc.

Canada is simply not gentle on vehicles, no matter what we do as drivers, the roads themselves are harsh, and will take their toll.

I just don't think you can compare Japanese vehicle use to Canadian vehicle use, and then say that we are "abusing" the vehicles, we're just using them the way all vehicles in Canada are used, and the way our roads are designed.
