Pimp my ride...

Post by josh »

My wife and I took "Dusty" for a spin after waiting 6 weeks for my wheels to finally show up. It turns out that US Wheels hadn't had a request for that bolt pattern on my wheels in a very very long time and so they had to machine a set for me. Was it worth the wait? I think so!

Anyhow, I am impressed, and no rubbing so far!

Looks fantastic. I think I might have to go with the Mud terrains instead of the All terrains next time. They are very meatty looking. Nice Van.

lookin good josh. I know from experience pictures can't even show how amazing it looks in person. Can't wait to see your in person. Looks like you'll have to start pioneering like mitch and I next time too. I have a buddy who just moved to williams lake for the summer, I will let you know and maybe we could meet up somewhere in between.

Adam,

Sounds good, I am up for just about anything! Tell me when Williams Lake is a go, and we'll call up James also. I just want to show Dusty off! Anyhow, I think in the next couple weeks I might put wood floors in the back. We'll see.

Looking good Josh, going with no protection for the little coolers for now?

BTW, that road and pond look familiar.

Kev,

They are tremclad aluminum... and I like em a lot!

The wheel's are 7" wide rims, 15's... and they are skinned with BFG M/T 31/1050/R15's. It gave a considerable lift, and I havent even added the MM shackles yet.

James,

I took the steps off awhile ago, I felt that they didn't offer any real protection, and besides, I have more clearance without the steps. And it looks better. (Its all about the look right? lol)

That lake is off a back road near Kispiox. Rose and I went to the kispiox rodeo last weekend... so you were probably out there before.

:D Holly shit brah!! unreal the difference it makes, lookin gooood! Josh man, could you please give me a detailed stat about your wheels, they are exactly the type that i was loking for, i know that they are 7 inches by 15's, but where did you get them and how much did cost you, and whats with the custom hole pattern, how about the nuts, had to get different ones? and does the straight 2.5 inch exhaust pipe really makes that much of a difference power wise? worth the investment? sorry about the annoying questions but i need to know! ( i like spending money wisely) nice pictures btw, thanks and once again, siiiick ride!

Surferboy,

Thanks for the compliments. Its always nice to hear people like the look of it. Makes me smile.
Here's the stats you need for the wheels, just about any company will do. The Centre bore I think is technically 4.25 on the Delica, but you can use different sizing.

Wheels: Steel
Size: 15x7 inch
Backspace: 3.75
Bolt Pattern: 6 on 5.5
Offset: -6
Centre Bore: 4.28

The wheels cost me about $100 a piece...
Adam's also look slick, viewtopic.php?f=10&t=378&start=0 and they were about $75 a piece. I just looked around on the net till I found something that would suit my Delica's personality. I personally think Adam did a killer job too, the white goes great with his but wouldn't have worked with mine. The options are defiantly out there.

As for the exhaust, I am not sure how much difference it makes. But is sure sounds tough. Although if you like a quiet ride I would stay far far away from an exhaust like mine. It is really loud, harley style.

Thanks Josh, about the wheels, i looked on the US wheels webb site and they had similar ones than yours, i can't recall the name of the model, .. do you have a model name and brand for them? when you said you had them custom made for the hole pattern of the deli, how much more for the mods? Did you get them straight from the company in the states and had to pay for shipping? just as you thought you were thru with my questions! ah ha!
Cheers and thanks a lot! :D

They are from US wheels... so the same ones you prob saw. You can order them through just about any tire place... I had to wait almost 6 weeks because they had to machine them. You would have to wait also (although prob not as long, everything takes longer up north). The machining doesn't cost you a dime... it was just that they didnt have any already made. They look way better in person. What colour is your rig?

Hey Josh, thanks for the infos, i'm sorry about the late reply, but i was at sea with the coast-guard for a month! i just got back today and i am now off for a month, my rig is the typical navy blueish greenish over grey, just like mystery machine and about 80% of the other delica owners, it seems like it was the most popular color, i don't mind it at all, but all black is what i would have went for if i would have had a choice.. are you still not really sure if the straight exhaust pipe gives you more power or not? i like the idea of a meaner louder sound but it has to also be functionnal to be worth the $$, bling is shallow my friend, remember all those poor kids in ethiopia and all, how many of them could have you feed for the price of a "cool" muffler! you must take it off now and ship it to me as punishment! Ah, ah, have a wicked summer bud, let me know how that straight pipe treats ya! Cheers!
