Motorcycle carrier from Princess Auto
The throttle cable on my bike broke when I was about to ride home from work tonight. So I have to hitch a ride home and drove the Delica to haul my bike back home. Here is the Princess Auto bike carrier. It works quite well given you are not hauling a Harley. Well, I guess it's alright because the snow is coming our way.

Who wants a Harley? What kind of bike do you have there, certainly looks economical.sasquatch-hunter wrote:The throttle cable on my bike broke when I was about to ride home from work tonight. Hey, I don't live in Canada - never heard of a Tomos before even living in scooter central. Looked them up - 120 lbs scoot vs 440 lbs KLR, yes check the specs Adam.
Now if they could just put fuel injection on the KLR they could sell it here, and I'd get inline to buy one if it was available at Thai prices (not import, therefore cheaper than Canada; not double like an import bike). Was getting chilly on the ride home last night; sub 20c degree weather - it almost dipped below 18c that night - man we were honestly really cold - but you don't feel the least bit sorry for us do you.

That bike probably gets 100 mpg Can I'd bet. Even my KLR gets 65mpg on the highway and 55-60 in the city.BCDelica wrote:sasquatch-hunter wrote: Who wants a Harley? What kind of bike do you have there, certainly looks economical.

Princess Auto said 500 lbs. In reality, I don't think I will put anything bigger than a 400 cc.

BTW, that is a 2001 Tomos Targa LX with Acerbis headlights, Bi-turbo exhaust, K & N cone filter, hill climb rear sprocket, custom Yamaha plastics and some aftermarket handlebar.

In terms of fuel mileage for Moped's nothing beats a Velo-Solex (and if you run out of fuel, you pedal on....)
I'm sure my Solex would fit on a bike rack - wouldn't even need to get a Motorbike rack/carrier...
Cheers,
Chris

Economical machines there, Chris love the all the gear all the time look there. That attire, and passenger restraint, would fit right in over in SE Asia for scooting.
I remember reading that IF; the downtown center of a larger city was closed to all traffic but mass transit, bicycles and motorcycles - electric or 50cc, and all municipal and government employees started work before 8 am or after 10 pm: would reduce immediately cut rush traffic in half, save the commuters costs and reduce exhaust emissions by X percent.
To keep on subject, currently having a hitch made for our pick up I’m been looking at idea, and designs, for motorcycle carriers. Two dual sports fit in the box easily, but to have the option to fit three possibly four bikes for remote adventure sounds fun.

mine goes right inside. I also have a carrier that goes into my reciever hitch which supports my bike by the skid plate only.
