Notice that when fog lights and headlights are on, I lose approx. 4-500RPM and my temperature gauge goes blank.
Any ideas? Are they connected to each other? Do I have to feed the gremlins to make it all go away!

Don't feed it. Get rid of it.
If you're loosing 500 rpm, you've got a serious power drain somewhere or a short.
Start with your fog lights. Trace the wire, remove it and test. Repeat with the pod and the headlight switch.

Yep - short or similar current draw is dropping down the voltage to the point where the gauge electronics cease to function.
Fix the first and your temp gauge will come back to life.
