I posted that same video to my Facebook profile as my justification for wanting a Delica!

However, the reason I am looking at an L400 is the 2.8L intercooled turbo engine. It has more OOMPH than the L300 engine.

In Russia I guess maybe they don't have any salmon left in their streams.

Try that here and Fed Fisheries will have your Delica and rightly so, regardless of whether it's an L300 or an L400. That is, if there are any salmon left here which seems questionable at the moment or, perhaps not if you are working for a "run of the river" IPP.

I guess it is a manual.

I agree danfromvan, as "cool" and fun it is to drive around in creeks and little rivers, it for sure not very healthy for the already harmed wilderness.

After watching endless hours of Ghost Hunters International, maybe he was just putting himself in the place of the salmon to see what it is like to go upstream... he was, after all, almost fully submerged at one point. Hmmm...

Seriously, agreed it's not good for the environment. Not so seriously, I think we are all closet river runners (even tho we don't practice it) because we have all watched it and thought it to look fun!

As for the epic 300 versus 400? I am leaning towards changing up to the 400 but still very much love my 300 for a variety of reasons the 400 doesn't live up to. Appearances are so different it's hard to compare apples to apples.... like them both for different reasons.

I am not sure about the current situation with salmon population in the Russian Far East because the last time I visited that land in 1980 but this is what inspires me to make a switch to L400 or 'bulka' (a bun) as Russians call it:

Wow Profister. It looks like we may have trouble finding more than a few L400s for a while. They must have taken more than a whole year's production.

Those Kazakhs sure are smart. What was that Borat guy thinking!?!

Haha yea I wish I could get an L400 but I love the L300's style and over cab-ness.
That and I think the less power would do my driving record some good...
And I'm Broke...ect ect

Im crossing my fingers on a L300 before spring though!

And as far as our enviroment is concered I'll go do that and blame it on the oil sands seeing as im in alberta XD But not like a little 2.4L 4 banger could compare to some of those Jacked up HID'd duel stack's Dodge,Ford,GMC's I see crusing anywhere and everywhere they want =/

Oh well Fingers crossed XD

In Alberta the fish have been sent to school by the fish cops and trained to move so we don't drive over them during our water crossings. BC fisheries should look into this.

It's not the actual salmon, many of them can avoid black tires (just like they can avoid black bears). It's the irreparably altered spawning gravels.

I doubt if there are as many fish left in Alberta, at least not in the Athabasca River downstream of Fort McMurray. At the current rate of development, in a few years there won't be enough water left there to drive in either.

To quote Spock of Star Trek fame, "It's life, Jim, but not as we know it."

With all the carcinogenic and Teratogenic substances in the Athabasca, I wouldn't be surprised if Neanderthal re-appeared.
