Hi, if your intermittent power problem not solved yet try the simple cheaper things first. the hoses from injection pump back suck fuel and could suck a little air and hardly show a leak. if they look original, replace them. I did on my L300 for $20 materials. Then purged system with a temporary electric pump. My IP mounting studs were loose and 1 broken off. Bottom 2 mounting bolts were missing. (Possibly forgotten on a IP rebuild up island by previous owner) Pump was being held by the high pressure delivery lines! So all that was the cause of engine power problem. (intermittent + then more often) but the amazing part was it still ran good 95% of the time.>>hope helps>>John

Hi Eric Tiny Toy, simple thing to do, worked for me when I was getting wierd fuel issues ... disconnect the 2 fuel hoses from the fuel filter (under passenger seat, easy to access) and either pump with the little pump on top (slow and hassle) or bump the igniton key a few times (quick and easy), until you get out about a cup of diesel. I think I had a large bit of crud in the lines or stuck in the filter area, this was my MAGIC solution, truly worked. Then just drip your removed diesel through a coffee filter and can put it back in the tank.

In fact maybe let it sit in covered glass jar (clean) in the same temperature as your delica, and see what happens overnight. Do you see waxy worm like strands, does it settle out into water layer, etc.

If you have lotsa crud, you can remove the bolt on the bottom of the fuel tanks and drain out the diesel, let it settle a few days, filter it, and return it (old linings of the fuel get disolved in the diesel fuel), years of old diesel crud).

Amsoil sells a winter additive for diesel.

In answer to yr question about fuel lines, yes lines up to 1993 were not built to survive alcohol, so if you have been running BIOdeisel it might be an issue. But it is easy to see, just wipe off outside your lines with warm water (with bit of dish soap, no solvents eh) and dry nicely with shop towels. Then watch to see if you have oily diesel seeping through cracks.

Can you post a You_tube, with the 1/2 hour time lapse issues Firesong mentioned. Post that link on this site, we'll all do the armchair mechanic opinion.

Regards, Christine.

I think I owe firesong a doughnut :-) It was a failing injector that was causing poor running condition. The shop I took it to has some used injectors from a Paj that had gas run through it ,that motor siezed so the new question is will they still be usable if they are sonic cleaned? If so Iwill report on how the Camovan is running! Thank you to all who responded to this.
