L300 up till late 1993 are 6.2 volt and after late 1993 are 11 volt. The L400 glow plugs are different again to the L300 as they are a different shape but they are also 11 volt.
So to sum up no there not all the same.

Delica L300 (pre 1991) has 'Auto Glow Plug System' which uses 12V glow plugs with one relay.

Delica L300 (1991 - 1993) has 'Super Quick Glow Plug System' which was designed to shorten the glow plug warm up time. To shorten the duration, they used 6.2V glow plugs (on glow plug, it is written 6.2V [12V]) rather than 12V ones that they used earlier, with two relays (one for before-start and the other for after-start to prevent the burnout of glow plugs) and a dropping resistor. The main disadvantage of this system is that glow plugs were much easier to burn out because of the voltage. Hence, glow plugs needed to be replaced earlier than anticipated. Imagine the second relay is dead. That means your glow plugs will fail soon from overheating.

Delica L300 (post 1993) has 'Self Regulating Glow Plug System' which uses 11V glow plugs with one relay. If you understand what is written above, you will understand why Mitsubishi abandoned 6.2V glow plug system with two relays.

Delica L400 is the same as Delica L300 (post 1993) - 11V.

The key to understand the logic behind this is 'CURRENT' not the voltage. The range of current going through glow plugs on Delica L300 (1991 - 1993) is (80A to 40A). If you measure the current going through Hyundai glow plugs on the same model year, the range is (60A to 40A). This means, the glow plug warm up time for Hyundai 11V glow plugs is little slower than 6.2V ones. However, the most important thing is that there is no overheating problem. Hyundai ones have 'built-in resistor' (variable resistance versus temperature) to prevent overheating.

We have sold many Delica L300 and L400 with Hyundai glow plugs. We have not seen any of our customers coming back because glow plug system is not working. In fact, I've seen a few customers who complained about third party aftermarket glow plugs not working, which they bought from other local part suppliers.

We are trying to supply the high quality product to Canadian Delica owners. $80 for a set of glow plugs is really cheap, as you know. I am very sure Mitsubishi OEM glow plugs are excellent, but they are also very expensive. There are also some unreliable low-end aftermarket ones you can get, but they are still expensive, aren't they?

hi, the glow plug for hyundai is diff. hyundai use 12 volt
1991 L300 thru may 1993 use 6.2 volts. if the glow plug burns it easy then there is some problem with ecu.
ecu is the common problem of this older delica.
as per the newer one the L300 1993 May & Up they use 11Volts.
as per L400 4m40 engine 1994 they use 11Volts but diff length than L300. totally diff.even they are both 11Volts.
the 11 volts design by mitsubishi is diff then hyundai glow plug design.
but if you think its o.k.. but in reality its wrong & diff.
japanese mitsubishi wont install 11Volts if they usually burn. its there design.
as per hyundai they have there own module design & its totally diff design. they used 12Volts
now you can used it temporarily glow plug from hyundai but if you dont notice the length if the hyundai glow plug is longer than original mitsubishi you might have problem with the head later on as if when it break towards the cyl head you have to take out the cyl head.
no easy to say until something happen on the glow plug that is not right application for that engine.
hope just to clarrify from other people who sell & deals parts for Mitsubishi.
i try hyundai glow plug but i wont take a chance on putting the wrong design glow plug for each vehicle. L300 is the not the same as L400 glow.
as per my opinion this is wrong glow plug for L400. you think o.k. but its not.
i dont mix up parts from other model to diff model of application whether its hyundai or mitsubishi
they share some component but not all.
Hope this clarify this:
Cheers:

Although there are aftermarket and other manufacturer's like Hyundai that may look and fit the Mitsubishi vehicle, it's not a genuine Mitsubishi part.

The best glow plugs for L300/L400/Pajero's are the genuine Mitsubishi green-top glow plugs and there are different part #'s for the L300 and L400.

They, just like all OEM (Original Equipment Manufacture) are usually more costly.

The best part for a Mitsubishi is OEM Mitsubishi replacement.

I use OEM when I can find/afford it but there is nothing wrong with aftermarket providing it's an exact copy of the original.

Good prices :M

I installed the glow plugs. They will not turn on and pre-heat ie: no click. Once the starter is engaged they start working, and will continue working once the van is running until the engine's warm.
Que pasa?
Thanks for any thoughts here,
Erik
