Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

Leaf spring/shackle bushings ?

Post by Meanman »

Can anyone confirm part numbers for the leaf spring and shackle bushings....Polyurethane if possible.
Or has anyone ever replaced these...only found one hit on this using the search.

Thanks
James

Just use our l300 download section. There is a link to a very useful site for part numbers...

Hey Meanman, not sure if you looked at this thread but it might help you with the leaf springs. I took the Miss Lil' Bitchi to Canada Spring. Here is the link:

http://www.delica.ca/forum/canada-spring-3638.html

I added a leaf, lifted the MLB's aft end about an inch and an half. I re-indexed the torsion bars and she sits just where I want her. The great thing about Canada Spring is you can get specific about your spring ~ like thickness or quality ~ instead of only taking what the part number offers. Hope this helps... smiles.

Falco....I'm after the bushings not the springs themselves. Both the leaf spring bushings and the shackle bushings are in need of replacement as I'm getting a lot of clunking on extension.

Ah... I took it as Leaf springs ...... and shackle bushings ~ thinking of helping with the leaf spring part of the request. Now I see I was on the wrong page  .... smiles.

I'm also looking for shackle bushings.
seems the site posted by Fexlboi no longer exists??

going to call northshore off road tomorrow

also read an old posting which mentioned '92 toyota pickup bushing may work.

I talked to lordco, they can match if I bring bushings in.
only have one vehicle so will try other options first.

Works for me. You can find the part number, but probably Lorco & Co can not use it. You would need to go the route of the usual parts importers from Japan.

Keep me posted on the Northshore avenue.
I too had read the 92 yota connection.

I may pull mine tomorrow and trek to lordco...if I do I'll list here.

Talked to NSOR this morning, they dont know off hand what bushings fit the l300,
however if someone wanted to take a bushing down there, they could match it up to a polyurethane set.

also talked to John @ www.rockymountainimports.net
he stocks genuine rear shackle bushings in rubber.

Removed my bushings and took them to lordco and spent an hour with the oldest parts guy in the free world. They had nothing in stock that we could match up and the parts dinosaur basically stared at me like I was from mars through the whole hour. Later went to Canada Spring and they managed to match them up with some rubber ones that were close enough to use but not a perfect fit. Turns out my issue is a broken leaf in the left side pack. Oh well another day.

Canada Spring are good with Martians, especially Gerry. You really broke a leaf? That is harsh. Explains the clunking. How do you think it broke?

I will pick up a bushing set from RMI later this week.
would rather have polyurethane to help compensate for removal of the rear sway bar.
rubber cant be too bad though, the originals lasted 18 years.

I could have either broke the leaf when I got stuck out at stave and did a lot of "rocking" to get "unstuck" or jumping the tracks on 104th near scott road in Surrey :o , or maybe towing my trailer? I dunno, getting a new-ish spring pack from Mardy.

Have you tried to find any matching poly bushings with your new bushings from John?
