Pod Removal

I am looking to remove my 'Pod' and mess with it a little but I have this tendancy to break items when taking them apart without instructions. I have done a search and actually I have been looking for some time but to no avail. Anyone able to give me a little direction to get me on my way with my project?

Would a compass from an L400 fit into the L300 Pod? That is not my project but curious as I may look to replace my Altimeter as well as my inclinometer. I rather like the temp guage so that would be staying.

Having done this a couple times, but with the disclaimer added that I haven't in two years time, know it is a simple matter of carefully removing the front plastic molding below the pod first. It pops straight forward, and done carefully you will not break the two restraining clips. Removing that cover allows access to the two Phillips screws that allow the pod to be lifted, but of course its still connected to the inner wiring.

I broke both of the described plastic covers on our L300s, but found that a dab of silicone in each corner, and an elastic band around the base to hold the strip well drying lasted just fine.

Thanks, I mainly didn't want to be reffing on anything that was screwed down - I'm comfortable breaking plastic

Theres a great old post on here where the guy was trying to do the same thing - misinterpreted the directions and ripped off the entire foamy front piece thingy.

youll be lucky if you dont break the front plastic trim, and youll be lucky if the pod isnt broken free from the screw.
the screw holes were broked on my so i screwed through plumbers strap and then with more screws into the plastic, and then glued the trim cover back on.. voila!
