Re: sliding door hinge
new hinge 64 Lbs, sounds a little massive to me... I dont think I understand whats broken, Ive seen the slider hinge with the knuckle that the pins bend outwards with 2 rollers on one side and one on the other side bend out from either to much weight put on the door at some point or to much leverage over time from an extended hinge to clear fender flares and then compounding with weight of the door , the knuckle part is self is about 2lbs. maybe 4-5 kilo, but I dont think its even that much weight, there is a couple pieces to this, the section that goes into the door its self and folds, and then the knucle part that goes into the slider of the vans rail, I have a Massive spare Stainless Steel extension hinge for BIG fender flares, but even that weighs about 3-5lbs Max and it bolts onto the knuckle part that goes into the slider,
the cure is a NEW knucles section, then bolt onto the extension, if your new knucle does not come with the hardened bolts, then get someone to weld the two together and/ source Grade 8 bolts for the 3 bolts into the little body that it should have... Ive done this now a few times, the hardest part is the waiting for the new part to come from Japan, and then the break down of the interior of the passenger side back panel, as the rail is bolted to the inside of the van , in behind the speaker , once thats all done, its about a 20 min job... can you post picts?
also its not normally something that fails unless you have the fender flares or someone puts alot of weight on the sliding door, when its opening or closing.....

Re: sliding door hinge
More info would be great.
I was assuming he has the extension as well.
