My Delica won't be in my hands for another week or two, but in the meantime the mothership (my car) is getting revenge for being replaced by requiring repairs. The latest is a new battery. The car requires side-terminal batteries. The one I got has both side and top, because I use the top terminal to connect all my accessory wires.
My question is, will a battery that has both side and top terminals fit in the Delica? Mine is has the dual battery setup. I hope to put the new battery in the Delica, add a second new battery (top terminal only) and do something else with the JDM batteries. My importer (crusher) thinks one side terminal battery will fit in the spot closest to the engine. But Green1 has looked at his Delica and doesn't think there will be room.
Has anyone done it, or tried and failed, on a dual-battery Delica?

Re: Side terminal batteries?
Just got 2 batteries from crappytire, they have rebranded Optimas now , looks like a six pack. About an inch smaller in every dimension from a regular battery and has both top and side terminals and you can unscrew and discard the ones yer not using. I paid around 150 each.

Re: Side terminal batteries?
Ya, I also say go with the optimas , a jell cell battery can be mounted in any position, and you dont run the risk of killing the battery if you shake up your truck a bit, most batterys can die if you just shake them. I only run optimas. red top for me. a little more money, but I have Never had one die on me or leave me stranded , OH and you can get a nice 1000cca optima that is smaller in everyway to the normal liquid filled batteries. so alot much punch in a smaller more durable little container.
