New! new! newbies

Post by shampoomotor »

well here goes nothing.
We here at the Shampoomotor Ranch are waiting and pretty excited. Got our first Delica last week and are having it converted (WVO) as we speak. A lot of firsts going on, first Delica, first vehicle in 5yrs (we live in a small town and have managed to this point with our bicycles), and first time on a forum of any kind, so I'll apologize in advance for stupid questions and inadvertent toe-stepping.
We're literally busting at the seems to get into some minor mods. Bike rack, extra tank, curtains, decals, skid plate, stereo.
Also looking forward to connecting with other owners and checking out other modifications and cool people going cool places in a great vehicle.
I'll try attaching a photo but like I said . . .not too good at this yet.
From here in Powell River we make a lot of trips to Victoria and Vancouver, but our first extended trip (any drive that includes the ferry is an 'extended trip') will be to Port McNeil. Hopefully work out the bugs and this August head into the Kootenays for a music festival and to celebrate our anniversary on the beach where we were married!
Guess that's it until the convertion is done. Should have some photos of that as well.

Hey,
Judging by the lovely grotto setting and the other vehicle in the picture
you got yourself a very nice, very well mechanically prepared ride
from After Oil.

Welcome and have fun on the forum!
Very cool you are going to WVO right away.
If you guys are going to be passing through
Nanaimo and need a WVO fill ,give me a
head up and I can have some ready for you guys
on the house... More like behind the house but
free all the same.

Enjoy!
Right ON! 8-)

Thought someone might recognize the locale.
we're pretty pleased. Thanx for the warm welcome to the forum, and the offer of oil.
We'll actually be in Naniamo the beginning of July then again in aug for a family reunion.
we'd love to hook-up.
Thanx again

Cheers and Congratulations on a nice clean looking Delica, a 95 cool.

Be certain your WVO system installer keeps his goatee clear of all moving parts during the install. If we were in PR I be glad to help with the install.

Best Regards,
Kevin

Congrats on the new ride!

This is a very clean van, low km and all. After Oil made sure it was top notch and I'm glad it went to someone like you guys, it will be worth the 5 yrs of bicycling! Good idea to go veggie right away, you'll be laughing your way past every gas stations... great feeling!

There's a few of us that can help with veggie if ever needed as you travel, don't hesitate to ask... it's a great community!

Happy veggie!

Thanks for the warm welcome.
Things are going good with the wheels and i think we've worked out the kinks in the WVO system although we're getting a little black smoke on start up with the WVO and some throbbing during early idling. We're hoping this will work itself out on our first big road trip. We're going back to Kootenay Lake to celebrate our anniversary on the beach we where we we're married. Then to a music festival in Salom BC.
I'm going to start a couple threads regarding mechanical and road trip. Any tips or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Have fun!
