WVO in Nanaimo

Post by Adam »

Back in business. It has been 18 months since I was last able to filter WVO, but now the filter shed is done, almost, it still needs a roof:

I've filtered 2000L in the last few days and now I'm out of storage space for filtered WVO. I still have another 1000L or so stock piled outside that I'd like to keep away from the bears. If anyone in the area needs a fill up give me a shout. I've been blending 50/50 in my L400 for the last month and it has been running great.

Next step is to install the Plant Drive kit off my dead L300 and that fantastic new aluminium tank SteepCreeker built for me. Hope that will be done by next spring :-).

Where do you put the Veg oil tank in the Delica? Or do you just use the Diesel Tank?

Currently I'm mixing WVO with diesel in my main tank. I had a new tank made for the spare tire area behind the rear axle which I'm going to try and install in the next few weeks. It is big at 180L or so and it turns out I might have to test it for leaks before I mount it. Once I figure out how to plug the holes that are supposed to be in it (WVO in, WVO out & air vent) I'll pressure test it with my air compressor. I'll take a picture of the tank and post it later on tonight.

EDIT: and here they are:

Wow! Is it really 180L? Doesn't look it but that's great, that's a lot of oil! d
Glad to have you back in the game! And nice shed... Maybe when I grow old I'll have one like it!

Cheers,

You made me recheck my math on this one, but it is pretty close to 180L. 27" by 29.5" by 14.5" = 189.25L, but there is a small corner missing on the exhaust side so that I didn't have to reroute it. I figure the missing bit is between 10-15L, so I'm calling it 180L. I guess I'll find out when I mount it and fill it up for the first time.
