Never let others pump your fuel...

This has happened 1 time with a full tank with my old Jetta. Told the kid at fillup "diesel", he said "Diesel?", I said yes. Went to the restroom, came back and saw the yellow handle still in the pump and the green one in my vehicle. I insisted on it being drained on their tab, and refused to run it. Got it towed to the nearest VW dealer, they paid for the rent of a car for a day, and I returned the next day for a second fill...with me doing it. Never saw the kid at that station again. I had two other close calls since and now insist on pumping myself. Not to mention they often seem to slop diesel down the side of the vehicle.
