Paint Colours

Post by sean »

Checking in the FAQ section and referring to the list complialed by Kev, I found the corresponding code for my vehicle.
Has anyone used this list to obtain paint here in Canada? Checked out Canadian Tire but could not find a match. There was primer gray but I do not want it to be close. I want it to be a match.. If possible.

While I endeavour to ensure that the information is correct, the information and other media contained on Delica.ca and accessible to forum readers is provided on an AS IS basis, without any condition, warranties or other terms of any kind. Said information could (mine most likely will) include technical inaccuracies or typographical error. I have made reasonable efforts to ensure that the information is accurate at the time of inclusion, alcohol consumption premiting.
My body shop was able to match up those paint codes and provide me with 100 ml of touch up paint. Also, a good paint shop should have a 'optical tester' (is that the right name) for paint matching, the ICBC claim work on my van was done that way. There was something about the grey fading and they got a better match.

Lordco will make up a can of custom matched spray paint for not too much $$... Friend of mine did some Delica body work for his friend that way and it turned out good, but just make sure it's a match (they'll re-do it if it's not right). If you need a part to bring in, the quarter panel is good since it's small, just don't strip the screws - use an impact driver if they're stuck.

I found a perfect match for the grey on mine at Crappy tire, it's one of the GM ones. I'll post the name when I get home . I'm on the road in NS right now , home in a week or so.
