Re: Glow Plug Relay
where does it sound like it's coming from? The glow plugs are located in the "B" pillar and sound like they are coming from behind you, if that's the location I would heed the other advice to ignore it... if however it's coming from your left or underneath, then there may be something else going on...

Re: Glow Plug Relay
I'd offer to come have a listen / look at it... I have a friend who lives out that way, so it wouldn't be completely out of the way for me depending on when you're available. I have some general mechanics training / experience, but by no means am I an expert, I just got a Delica myself, but I'm learning lots. I could at least narrow down what kind of ticking it is. Let me know.

Re: Glow Plug Relay
That would be great ,not not to sure how to contact you ,i have no problem leaving you with my phone # but im sure there is another way im not the computer type, as fare as were its coming from its difficult to say,if I crawl under the van its louder ,and the "tick" stands out more (louder)than the normal cold start clicking and rattle that comes from that of a diesel this im sure of ,my next thing to try is scoping out the sound with a long screw driver too my ear on different parts of the engine my Grandfather drove dump trucks and this is what he did when searching out an internal noise ,i aint no pro thats for sure but this is my first diesel and this Forum is teaching me lots ,but i would be greatfull for a second ear to this one. Thanks

Re: Glow Plug Relay
I havent looked inside mine yet but I see there are valve clearance specs so it stands to reason the valves are adjustable. Maybe try and adjust them? It is pretty hard to diagnose a noise without actually hearing it. If your out in Coquitlam at all let me know, I can put an ear to it and give you my opinion and maybe some help fixing it depending on how minor it is.
