bushings in shocks

Does your Mitsubishi L300 make a strange noise? Need wheel alignment specs?

bushings in shocks

Post by Firesong »

Just a question for someone who knows specifically please.
When you get a shock, for example the Rancho 9000
there is a bushing for the eye and the bolt goes through.
Do you need to use it if the bolt is the same size as the eye
in the shock?
Or should a person size down the bolt and use the busing too?

Thanks

I should clarify a bit further, I am not referring to the bushing
that comes installed in the shock but the metal one that accompanies
the kit.

Most common bushing (rubber/poly) is 5/8"

If your bolt diameter is 5/8", then you do not use any metal sleeves.

If your bolt diameter is smaller than 5/8", then use one of the supplied metal sleeves where your bolt fits snug inside.

I thought you want to change your mounts in the back to eye-to-eye?

:? Why new mounts if you can get the ProComps as a perfect fit as eye-to-pin?

Yeah I get that, but I'm just wondering why he welded in new mounts and in the end gets ProComps which would be also available in many sizes as eye-to-pin. Maybe I'm missing something...
